Improving profitability and sales of a food business

Delfinity were approached by a young food business who required clarity and support in order to grow its sales and increase profitability. 


Delfinity’s team of business strategy experts conducted an initial situation review of the organisation. Before drafting, delivering and implementing sales plans, our team worked with the client to coach and support them in understanding their margins and recommending the best practices of managing them through cost control and improved pricing.


By working closely with the client to provide clarity within their business we were able to instill them with the confidence they needed to take action within their company. The business was able to reassess their pricing and set a clear, premium price point that situated them comfortably within a competitive market whilst also reflecting the quality and provenance of the product.


Not only were we able to successfully equip the business with the skills, knowledge and confidence to maintain and develop the analysis and modelling we had introduced, but we were also able to successfully work with them in assessing the impact of a new premises. This assessment resulted in the business relocating to a significantly larger site with the help of external funding. The move will enable the business to increase production and efficiency, allowing them to expand into wholesale supply to various food outlets including farm shops and delicatessens, as well as continuing online sales directly to customers and continuing to grow the core business.
